FINAL PRODUCT

preliminary task

EVALUATION

1.      In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
In terms of the codes and conventions of music magazines, my product does follow certain aspects such as the bold title and even though my title is black it still stands out on the front cover and compliments with my colour scheme chosen I have also followed the codes and conventions by using bright eye catching colours on my front cover to attract my target audience.

EVALUATION

2.How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My product could be compared to NME as they have a similar layout.
However I reach a younger target audience and have a different genre to NME this could benefit me as our magazine reaches a wider audience and we try and create articles that all of our readers would want to read, and also the colour red in unisex which doesn't exclude any sex and appeals to everybody.

3.What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
There is a small variety of companies that might distribute my media product because it fits in well with their other successful products. The first being IPC media. They produce NME which is what I am basing my magazine on. They also do many other magazines like the ones below my magazine is included in this collage to show how mine would fit in with ipc media’s other products
Another possible company that could distribute my magazine could be BAUER they produce ‘ MOJO’ and ‘Q’ they are similar to my genre which might complement each other well if they are distributed from the same company.
