MY NEW DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE one of the brilliant singers of the 21st century listen in on what one of our TOTAL fans had to say:
One TOTAL reader Ella Storey spoke to us about the first time she saw Florence and the Machine: “the first time I saw Florence was in December 2009 in a small venue in Manchester, there must of been less than a couple of thousand people there we were standing i mean you can’t really sit down at a florence gig! not far from the stage we stood outside for a good couple of hours to get them spots but it was worth it before she came on i was so excited but really nervous to see her i didnt know if she was going ot be as good as she was on her album but she was better! When Florence came us her set was revealed aswell and even though it was only supposed to be a small intimate gig  her set was amazing! She had a big harp in the middle of the stage with bird cages at the side and a backdrop with bird pattern on it looked amazing! Before she came on stage i was nervous and excited to see her, especially because i was so close to the stage.
”‘Kiss with a fist’ the debut single by the brilliant indie pop band Florence and the Machine.Won the award for best album in 2010, but who can blame the public for voting ‘Lungs’ the best album of 2010, one of my personal favourites on the brilliant album is ‘kiss with a fist’ it was co written by Florence and Isabella summers who co-wrote the majority of the songs on the album with Florence the song was thought by many to be based on domestic violence, which Florence denies. Florence explained the meaning of the song on her My Space:
"Kiss with a Fist" is NOT a
song about domestic violence. It is  about two people pushing each other to psychological extremes because they are fighting but they still love each other. They enjoy the drama and pushing each other's buttons. Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love" isn't actually about her bleeding and this song isn't actually about punching someone in the mouth.
The review by music OMH of the song ‘kiss with a fist’ questioned the song by saying: "Those lyrics are likely to prove pretty contentious - is Welch condoning domestic violence with lines like "a kiss with a fist is better than none"? But finished the paragraph by saying "Whatever the meaning, this is an exhilarating debut single." We here at TOTAL totally agree with this review!
Florence was first ‘discovered’ when she was just 19 in a pub in London. Florence explained to a well known music “I was really drunk, running around going, ‘I can sing!” she ran into the pub’s bathroom after the famous DJ Mairead Nash and she was blown away by her version of ‘something’s got a hold on me’ by Etta James. Nash was wowed by her performance and was invited to sing at an open mic night, that Nash had hosted and pretty soon the fiery red head had a budding music career ahead of her.
The Machine that work with Florence are a group of artists who provide the brilliant  backing music for her songs, so in reality, the machine is the band and Florence is the vocals, she’s very close to each member of the band and takes on their opinion about new songs and performances. The name ‘Machine’ was originally a private joke between joke between Florence and her friend Isabella, Isabella was called Isabella and the machine and Florence was called Florence robot, however on the way to one of Florence’s first gigs she couldn’t think of a name Isabella suggested she took the machine to represent her band.
Welch’s parents divorced when she was just 14 and soon after she was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyspraxia. Florence went to the fee paying private school ¬Alleyn's School and she managed to achieve straight A’s in GCSE and managed two A’s in English and art and a C in history in A-level. The unstoppable Florence then took a place ¬doing fine art at Camberwell College of Arts.
Ella was lucky enough to see Florence and the machine three times! She told TOTAL: “The first was in a small venue in Manchester the second was at Latittude in summer 2010 where she was headlining and the stmosphere of the crowd was immense, however just before she came on I got pushed right to the back! And I was right behind a massive pole for the whole of her set but from far away she was still amazing! She wore a long black flowy dress she looked brilliant! However she was quieter than the first time I saw her, in Latitude she just sing her songs and got on ith her set but at the gig in Manchester she really onnected ith the audience! She got so involved with one of the songs she climbed on top of a big amp and started dancing the sound guys went mad! She’s crazy but beautiful!
A recent article in NME revealed that Florence has confirmed that she is working on her second album which will be produced by the brilliant Paul Epworth. The album is rumored to be based on a family interest of science Florence told NME “a lot of my family are doctors or trying to become doctors so many of my conversations have been fixated on medical stuff” she also revealed that she’s trying to discover a new

To finish off Florence is an amazing beautiful woman who has achieved so much! And she has only been famous for a couple of years! Ella finished by saying she’s crazy, and every time I saw her she was so friendly with the audience and really connected with us! She brilliant!”
